Adding Water and Continental Color

Here you can see my first version of the "waters below."

There are some very nice-looking water assets included in the Unity standard assets pack, but before trying one of those out I created a simple plane with a metallic blue texture to create a level of water for the world.

At this point, the world simply looked like clay on a sheet of blue.

Here Vwspwn (in yellow) and Eslwn (in red) were given color. The continents (large islands) of Iartol all have their own signature color, representing their actual natural colors and also symbolic signifiers for the universe in general.

Here Anepa&wlu (in green) has been colored. I had previously colored these in crayon a few times back in the days when there was only lore and languages without any simulations. I actually didn't know that I wanted to build Iartol with a game engine back in those days. Now it seems obvious, as well as a thousand other things about Iartol. It has been a long road of discovery for me, after finding the world map in the first place...

One small series of paintbrush strokes for Unity, but a giant leap for the visualization of Iartol.

In the next log I will show how the political map was added back on top of this rendering to further visualize the world.
